Tango 102 is an eight week intensive course that is part of the most complete tango program in St Louis. Taught by teachers and dancers of national renown it is structured to ensure clear and steady progression thought the maze that tango can become. In 102 we cover basic walking movements, double times, amagues, molinettas, calicitas as well as the techniques to make them smooth and musical. Our students are smart and have a clear understanding of what they are studying as well as a knowledge of how much they will contribute to their progress through practice and social dancing.

The tuition is $120 per person for the 8 week course

Classes are taught by Roxanne Maier and Robert Mckenney

Close Embrace

Location: Monday Club, The
Time: 7:35pm
Cover/Fee: $120 or $180 for T102 and Close Embrace

7:40 pm to 8:40 pm - Tango Close Embrace (all levels)

Beginning Close Embrace

Close embrace is the root and fundamental idea behind all forms of tango danced today. Ideal for the very crowded dance floor as well as having a wonderful feel (how can it feel bad to be held close in an embrace!) it is sure to become one of your favorite ways to dance tango. The material in this class is more basic due to the limitations of the embrace but the lack of “fancy moves” is certainly made up for with smooth and rhythmic dancing sure to make your heart beat a little faster!

The tuition is $120 per person for the 8 week course

TMC's Practica

Location: Monday Club, The
Time: 8:30 to 10 pm
Cover/Fee: $5 pp

This is a guided practica/partner required. This means that you ask someone from class or at the dance if they have a partner for the practica, then you come together and practice something specific. I will be available to answer questions on the things you are working on. This is not a class to introduce new material rather a chance to work out the kinks on things you have perhaps been struggling with or
to explore new ways to put it all together. This is multi level as everyone will be working with the partner they brought!

Comme Il Faut Tango / Latin Shoe Sale

Time: 7:30 pm - 8:45 pm
Cover/Fee: Shoes $155 a pair cash or check

Hey St Louis,

I have done a lot of dancing and shoe shopping for certain girls with exacting tastes here in Buenos Aires and it seems that everything tango related went up 30% from last year. I feel this is an on going trend so I have decided to bring back 35 pair of Tango shoes for sale to the community for perhaps the last time. I feel if they get any more expensive I will not personally want to buy them any more and then I would feel wierd selling them.

Comme Il Faut are still the classiest shoe out there and many swear the most comfortable. I have multiple pairs (ok no laughing) and I do love them as well. I not only dance in them but wear them to dinner, the symphony, to a parties...hey you never know where you might get the urge to dance?

Anyways 35 pair of Comme Il Faut are coming your way if you are at all interested. I will have them displayed before the Blue Moon Milonga for one hour then I will put them away (as it makes the guys really cranky when we moon over shoes when they would like to be dancing with us) until the next practica. Come check them out they are gorgeous.

Guys this means the girls ill be at the milonga early so do not keep them waiting ;-)

Blue moon Milonga- 10247 Thorpe Ave, 63114 / August 30th 9pm-1am
Bring something to share (eats drink) and a strong urge to dance!

Warmly,
Roxanne
